song choices

I wa listening to Pandora trying to figure out what songs I would use. I think I might go with Weary Days by The Whitstein Brothers for my performace. I will use ASL to perform it. I am not sure yet but for the research song I think I might go with Dig a Little Deeper by Mahalia Jackson. Yep, so that's where I'm at currently.

presentation...

I finally figured out what I was going to do for my presentation. I still need to find the right song and then do all of the work. I decided that I was going to try and sign a song. That means American Sign Language along with the song. I used to be in Beyond Silence in high school which was this group that would perform ASL to songa and also plays. Yeah, I was even a captain last year. Then I will relate it by talking about how they used the music to communicate with each other. They would share thoughts and feelings and the deaf communicate with sign language. Yeah. I think that's what I'm going to do. Any suggestions? Do you think that will work?

Governor's speech

So I'm really late on writing about the speech but at least I still am. I actually liked her speech. It did get a little long and I thought the question and answer time was really boring but overall I actually enjoyed myself. I was suprised in class on how everyone was so critical about all the little mistakes she made her in speech. Obviously she hasn't had time to write her own speeches so it' snot going to be perfect. I just wouldn't want to have to give a really long speech (which she was used to only smaller ones) and find out that the audience was that critical. It would just make me more nrevous for the next time. I think we need to give her major credit for how far she has gone in her life (she is a governor) and how much she has done because of Katrina. She did a lot of work trying to get all of her people out of there because of that hurricane and she accomplished so much but here we are complaining about how she kept messing up on a silly little speech? That just seems wrong to me. Don't get me wrong, I'm not accusing anyone of anything, I just think we should have given Governor Blanco some more respect and actually discussed more of what she said in her speech.
Normally during speeches, I space out and stop paying attention. I actually listened through her whole speech. I thought it was good. She talked about her life and accomplishments and about Katrina and those accomplishments. The only thing that I didn't really like was the question and answer thing because she would take 10 minutes just to answer one question.
Overall, I really enjoyed her speech and I think we should give Blanco more respect about everything that she has accomplished. Try picturing yourself in her position and have to deal with everything with hurricane Katrina.

Another little side note that I always found a little weird is about hurricane Katrina and hurricane Rita. My sister's name is Katrina and my mom's name in Trina. I just think that is really weird. Yeah. That's all.
